Things to Do in Cape Canaveral

Cape Canaveral, Florida is well known by Floridians and travelers alike. It isn’t just home to the famous John F. Kennedy Space Center, but it is flourishing with activities, restaurants, beaches, and entertainments for adults and children alike. Whether you want to watch a shuttle launch, spend your time gambling or simply need something to do before your cruise departs Cape Canaveral has it all. Bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, Cocoa Beach, Port Canaveral, and the Banana River the options are endless.

Cape Kennedy
The Cape Kennedy complex has a variety of things to venture into. The Astronaut Hall of Fame is a great place for families to keep busy. It is possible to visit the JFK Space Center and tour it as well. To visit the center you must depart on a shuttle bus from the visitors center.

Cocoa Beach
Miles of white sandy beaches, resorts, and shopping stretch down the coast in Cocoa Beach. The beaches here are perfect for the sunbathing, swimming, surfing, boogie boarding, and jogging. Cocoa Beach is also home to the famous Ron Jon Surf Shop and Ron Jon Resort.

Canaveral National Seashore
Wildlife fanatics will find the Natl. Seashore a great place for bird watching and turtle viewing. The seashore is a 13 mile stretch of barrier island beach that is protected and unspoiled. It is located north of the Kennedy Space Center.

Port Canaveral
Known as the busiest cruise port in the world, Port Canaveral is booming with the entertainment. Children will enjoy watching the giant ships dock and depart while adults can enjoy a cold drink beach side at one of the many restaurants and bars. Port Canaveral is also home to the largest gaming cruise ship in the world where adults can find Las Vegas style entertainment seaside.

Other Activities
Kayaking, boating, and fishing at the Banana River and the Banana River Islands are popular activities for active people. There are also several pristine and well groomed golf courses in Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach.
