The only train connection between Fort Lauderdale and Miami is available from Tri-Rail and goes all the way to Miami Airport. There are up to 25 trains per day between Fort Lauderdale and Miami Airport , with a stop at Metrorail Transfer, which offers connections to downtown Miami.
The travel time is about 40 min and the first train leaves Fort Lauderdale at 5:01 a.m. The last one leaves at 9:45 p.m. If you plan to get off at Metrorail Transfer or Miami Airport, the single fare is $5.
Miami to Fort Lauderdale by bus
Greyhound offers 9 connections per day between Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. The first bus leaves Miami at 4:50 a.m. and the last at 11:45 p.m. The travel time is 45 min and the web fare only single ticket is $8.33. The standard fare is $9.25.
On the way back, catch the first bus at 2:40 a.m. and the last at 11:55 p.m. There are also 9 connections per day and the travel time is 40-45 min. The same fares apply.
