Pelican Adventures is a private charter boat company located in Destin, Florida. They are located right on the harbor for your convenience. Pelican Adventures has been conducting tours and servicing the area for over 10 years. The crew consist well experienced, multi generation fishermen and women, whom are very knowledgeable, friendly and eager to serve you.
What to Expect
Pelican Adventures do private and group tours. They have four boats to serve their customers. Good Times is a 22 passenger boat. It goes 18mph and comes equipped with air condition, restroom/shower, 32” television and DVD player, play station, radar and much more. The Anticipation can hold 35 passengers and trails through the water at 12mph. There is a restroom on board, along with a V-berth and Salon. The Answer II holds 31 people, moves at 12mph, has a restroom and 40 feet to walk around. Last but not least the Salt Shaker holds 6 bodies, tears through the ocean at a whopping 25mph, has a restroom and V-Berth as well.
The Gulf Fishing tour is conducted with a group of 8 to 12 people or can be done as a private tour. The private tour has a set rate for a maximum of 6 passengers with additional funds being added for each individual there after. Group fishing on the Gulf is a 6 hour trip. You will be in waters were Red Snapper, Grouper, Amber Jack, Trigger Fish and Mingo is abundant. The private Gulf fishing tours can be scheduled for a minimum of 6 hours through over night. Trolling and bottom fishing will be available. You can expect to catch such fish as Tuna, King Mackeral and Sea Bass.
The Bay fishing tour is done on the bay as well as lightly surfacing the Gulf. The boat will hold a maximum of four passengers. This is a great tour for a small intimate group. Such fish as Trout, Flounder and Spanish Mackeral will be at your disposal. The rates are reasonable and are based on a per hour figure. You could take care of the bill yourself or split it with a friend. Whatever you decide it will be money well spent.
So you are feeling daring and want to capture a shark huh! Well Pelican Adventures has the trip for you. Reservations can be made on the same day depending on the volume of customers. The rate is per hour and covers up to 6 passengers. The price for each person over 6 will be 10% of the cost. This tour is for experienced and inexperienced people. Crew members are always available to handle emergencies and offer out their expertise.
People of all ages are welcome to enjoy snorkeling. The price is set at a per person rate (same for adult and children). During the months of September – April the tours last 2 ½-3 hours and accommodates a max of 30 passengers. Along the way to the snorkeling site Dolphins can be seen playing in the waters. The tours taking place during the summer months (May – August), however, will drop off customers and pick them up on a regular basis. Customers can come and go as they please. Crew members are always available on the beach and boat and are CPR, First Aid and AED certified.
tips for Visiting
When fishing at Pelican Adventure in Destin, Fl your package will include your license, bait and tackle. However, Florida is hot year round and definitely more so in the summer, so it will be wise to bring along some drinks. Since fishing takes at least 4-6 hours, packing sandwiches and snacks will be handy. Also, don’t forget the simple things like a camera to catch memorable moments, sunscreen to protect your body and towels for universal uses.
