Panama City has certainly earned its self a reputation as one heck of a party city. But, this beautiful beach side town is more than just drunk spring break students. In 2006, Panama City was voted as one of the best place to invest in real estate in the US by CNN’s Business 2.0 magazine.
Location
The city of Panama City can be found on the West side of Florida along US Highway 98. Panama City resides in Bay County, Florida. While Panama city is large, it is small in comparison of other major Florida cities. However, it is the largest city between Pensacola and Tallahassee.
How to get to Panama City
Most visitors to Panama City tend to be from the East Coast and drive down. Those that fly usually fly into the Panama City - Bay County International Airport. This airport is close the beaches and hotels.
Weather
Panama City has a typical coastal city climate. Early mornings are cool, while the mid summer days are hot and somewhat humid. Summer month usually include daily shower and frequent thunderstorms. The winter months are cool and a bit more dry. Panama City sees lowes of 44F and highs of 89F
What to do
St. Andrews State Park - This state park has a fee of only $5 and is worth every penny. The beaches are beautiful and beach combing is a must here. Loads of sand dollars and other cool shells.
Nicklaus Course at Bay Point Resort - Located at the Marriott Bay Resort, this golf course is one of the most challenging in the states. A must try for the serious golfer.
Paradise Helicopter Service - Get a cool birds eye view of the city and the ocean. This is easily the most impressive way to see the city and coast line.
Shipwreck Island Waterpark - This is your standard waterpark. It comes complete with lazy rivers, steep slides, tide pools, and all that jazz. Open in the summer only.
